Your Bendigo and Interstate Removalist Questions Answered
Do I need a list or inventory for your removalists?
It is important to prepare an inventory. Reputable carriers insist on a list of items being transported. This may be given over the phone (keep a copy for your own file) or in writing, faxed, e-mailed or fill out our furniture removals quote form. This not only allows us to correctly assess the volume of furniture, it also gives our staff information on the furniture and effects at the time of pickup.
Why do I need a quotation in writing?
This will protect your interest and assets. We operate under strict guidelines in accordance with the Code of Conduct of Australian Furniture Removals Association. Unless other arrangements come to bear, the price quoted is fixed.
Do you have a packing service? Should I pack, or have my personal effects packed for me?
Yes, we have a professional packing and unpacking service. The largest percentage of damages caused during furniture removal is due to incorrectly packed or inadequate strength cartons used. Central Victoria Removals, as a professional Bendigo removalist company, recommend our staff attend to your packing. This alleviates a lot of headaches. By going down this path you also do not compromise your insurance. If you wish to pack yourself, we can supply sufficient packing materials. Owner packed or PBO (Packed by Owner) is quite acceptable, but we recommend you follow a few simple rules as outlined in our interstate house packing service.
Do I need removals insurance?
Insurance in any form, whether you are insuring your car or house, is to give you peace of mind and we suggest you consider extending this for any additional accidental damage. Contact Central Victoria Removals for our extremely competitive rates for transit or storage cover. Our first aim is to ensure your relocation proceeds without any problems, but in unforeseen situations, accidents can happen.
What happens if I can’t be at the property when the furniture arrives?
You should arrange to have a person to take delivery of your goods on your behalf at the time you have agreed with the removalist. You should inform your removalist that you have appointed an agent and give them contact information. If you can’t do this, you may need to make arrangements with the removalist to store your goods until you can take delivery. This may result in a storage fee, extra handling charges and a redelivery fee. Under no circumstances will your property be left at an address without you being in attendance.
If need be, can the removalist help me with storage?
Yes. We have a safe and secure Bendigo storage facility at our central depot where your furniture and goods can be stored if necessary.
What areas do you service?
We provide removals in Bendigo – and around Bendigo as well as an interstate removalists’ service. Our interstate removals includes Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra.
